Holger Czukay é mais conhecido por ser um dos membros fundadores do grupo de krautrock Can.
Seu trabalho é descrito pelo crítico Ankeny Jason como "uma bem sucedida ponte entre a o pop e o avant-garde", Czukay também é notável para a criação precoce de exemplos importantes de música ambiente, para explorar "world music" muito antes do termo ter sido cunhado, e por ser um pioneiro da amostragem (sampler).
