Biografia:
Oriundos de Liverpool em 1980, começaram por denominar-se Hollycaust, estranho nome ou nem por isso, não fosse o vocalista chamar-se Holly Johnson. A mudança para Frankie Goes To Hollywood deu-se quando a banda retirou o nome de um cartaz promocional de um show de Frank Sinatra. Holly Johnson era o carismático front-man, secundado por Paul Rutherford (vocalista e teclados), Peter Gill (bateria e percurssão), Mark O`Toole (baixo) e Brian Nash (guitarra).
