Example, ou mesmo Elliot John Gleave, nasceu em 20 de junho de 1982 em West London. É um cantor britânico e rapper que atualmente é contratado pela Data Records. Seu pseudônimo surgiu devido à formação de suas iniciais, E.G., que em latim é uma abreviatura comum a "exampli gratia", que significa "por exemplo".
Começou com um CD de Rap que não teve muito sucesso comercial, chamado "What We Made" que foi lançado pela Warner Bros. Records
