Biografia:

Dançarina, cantora e atriz, Doris Mary Ann Von Kappelhoff nasceu em 03/04/1924, em Cincinnati, Ohio, Estados Unidos.

Aos 12 anos, depois de ganhar um concurso de dança, foi para Hollywood. Aos 16 anos, iniciou turnê como cantora, com a Orquestra de Les Brown, onde conheceu Al Jordan, com quem mais tarde se casou. Tiveram um filho - Terry -, em 1942. Logo após o nascimento dele, o casal se separou. Em 1946, Doris casou-se com George Weidler, união que não durou mais que 8 meses.
