DJ BoBo ou Rene Baumann nasceu na cidade de Kollinken, na Suíça em 5 de Janeiro de 1968.
É filho de Ruth Baumann e Luigi Gipriano, mas seu pai o deixou quando ele ainda era criança.
Dance music, House music e Blues estão entr os estilos que ele mais gosta de ouvir.
Ele é cantor, produtor, compositor, dançarino e claro, DJ.
É casado com Nancy Baumann e juntos eles tem um filho chamado Jamiro, que nasceu em outubro de 2002.
