Biografia:
Os Department of Eagles começaram em 2000, com o feliz acaso de Fred Nicolaus e Daniel Rossen terem de partilhar um quarto na New York University. Como forma de entretenimento, juntavam samples e tornavam-nos em canções novas, com a ajuda de software pirata e um microfone emprestado. Por esta altura, ainda respondiam por Whitey on the Moon UK, que depois mudariam, ao descobrir uma banda californiana com igual nome. Acidentalmente descobertos por uma editora californiana, editaram "The Cold Nose" em 2003.
