Sometimes I Just Have To Say Your Name

por Del Amitri
Del Amitri

Biografia:

Tuning: Standard

Here's the chord version of this song.

INTRO: D Em7 F#m7 Em7
D Em7 F#m7 A

VERSE 1:
D Em7
With the sweet drip of every raindrop
F#m7 Em7
Time brings you closer to me
D Em7
And with each new sign at every train-stop
F#m7 Em7 D Em7 F#m7 A
Another hour without you is consigned to history
D Em7
And with each tick of my alarm clock
F#m7 Em7
I get crazy for the days to get to you
D Em7
When I can hold you and kiss you and have you
F#m7 Em7
Instead of staring at some photo like a fool

PRE-CHORUS:
G Em7
But as day turns to night there’s this hopelessness to fight
G A D/A A7
When I think that I might not make it through

CHORUS:
D G D
But honey sometimes I just have to say your name
G
To hear it hanging in the air, to know it sounds the same
Em7 G
And sometimes when I’m blue, I know just what to do
A A7 D
To keep the blues at bay you know I only have to say your name

INTRO

VERSE 2:
D Em7
So this morning I picked up the paper
F#m7 Em7
In the useless descent of the rain
D Em7
While partners in heartbreak the whole world over
F#m7 Em7
Lie and cheat just the same
D Em7
And the headlines proclaim everything has changed
F#m7 Em7
Love can’t save you now
D Em7
As each little motion of my writswatch
F#m7 Em7
Holds up my faith somehow

PRE-CHORUS:
G Em7
But as day turns to night there’s this hopelessness to fight
G A D/A A7
When I think that I might not make it through

CHORUS:
D G D
But honey sometimes I just have to say your name
G Em7
To hear it hanging in the air, to know it sounds the same
Em7 G
And sometimes when I’m blue, I know just what to do
A G A D A
To keep the blues at bay you know I only have to say your name

BRIDGE:
G D
When I’ve used up all my patience
G D
When your letters have been read twenty times through
F#m7 G
I can drink all the wine in this place of mine
Em7 A
But it ain’t no replacement, it ain’t no replacement for
D F#m7 Bm7 A Em7 G A D A7
you.................

CHORUS:
D G D
'Cause honey sometimes I just have to say your name
G
To hear it hanging in the air, to know it sounds the same
Em7 G
And sometimes when I’m blue, I know just what to do
A
To keep the blues at bay you (know I only have to say)
A D D
You know I only have to say your name....ooooh

OUTRO:
D Em7 F#m7 D Em7 F#m7
hooo... Oooh hooo.. You know I
D Em7 F#m7
Only have to say your name I only have to say your name
D Em7 F#m7
