Nascido na Filadélfia em 3 de outubro de 1941, Ernest Evans foi considerado o rei da dança no rock and roll. Embora inúmeros passos seus tenham ficado para trás, Chubby Checker foi imortalizado por seu suíngue mais famoso, o Twist, que se tornou referência para todas as outras danças de salão subseqüentes.
