Biografia:

Nascido na Filadélfia em 3 de outubro de 1941, Ernest Evans foi considerado o rei da dança no rock and roll. Embora inúmeros passos seus tenham ficado para trás, Chubby Checker foi imortalizado por seu suíngue mais famoso, o Twist, que se tornou referência para todas as outras danças de salão subseqüentes. Sua veia artística pôde ser percebida ainda na escola secundária, quando, freqüentemente, entretia os clientes da loja de aves em que trabalhava.
