Jack And The Beanstalk

by Children's Song
Children's Song

Jack and the Beanstalk

G C G
Jack sold his cow for some magic beans

C D
And told Mom it was the best offer he'd seen

G C G
He planted them deep in the ground that night

C G D7 G
And early next morning they gave him such a fright

G
Up up up up up they grew

C G D7
As high as the clouds and up on through

G C G
Jack started climbing high as could be

C G D7 G
And up at the top a new land he did see

C G
Everything was giant as massive as could be

C D
Jacked walked to a house and knocked so heavily

G C G
A giant woman answered and let him in

C G D7 G
She held him in her hand and stroked his little chin

C G
She fed him breakfast and dinner too

C D
Then she said watch out or my husband will eat you

G C G
He'll soon be home from work so you better hide

C G D7 G
Hide in my pocket you'll be safe inside

C G
Not a minute later he came through the door

C D
The giant whose footsteps shook the floor

G C G
What do I smell there's a man inside

C G D7 G
Fee fi fo fum from me he cannot hide

C G
The giant's wife replied I don't know what you mean

C D
There has been no man through these doors I've seen

G C G
Why don't you go nap and close your eyes

C G D G
I will come and wake you when it's time to rise

C G
The giant went to bed and to Jack the wife said

C D
Take these coins of gold to keep your family fed

G C G
Please come back and visit me someday again

C G D7 G
Until then remember I will always be your friend

G C G
The next morning Jack up the beanstalk he went

C D
And back to the house of the man-eating gent

G C G
The giant woman answered and let him in

C D
There has been no man through these doors I've seen

G C G
Why don't you go nap and close your eyes

C G D7 G
I will come and wake you when it's time to rise

C G
The giant went to bed and to Jack the wife said

C D
Take this goose that lays golden eggs to keep you fed

G C G
Please come back and visit me someday again

C G D7 G
Until then remember I will always be your friend

C G
The next morning Jack up the beanstalk he went

D7
And back to the house of the man-eating gent

G C G

C D
The giant whose footsteps shook the floor

G C G
What do I smell there's a man inside

C G D7 G
Fee fi fo fum from me he cannot hide

C G
The giant's golden harp gave a loud cry out

C D
The giant said I knew I smelled someone about

G C G
Jack took the giant's harp and down the beanstalk flew

C G D7 G
He grabbed an axe and chopped the stalk in two

C G
Jack never saw the giant again

C D
But thought about the beanstalk now and then

G C G
The giant's wife had been a faithful friend

C G D G
But now our story has come to an end
