Anya Marina es una cantautora residente en San Diego, California. Nació en Ann Arbor, Michigan, y se crió en Sillicon Valley en California, hija de profesores (Psicología y La literatura Rusa/ Matemática) y con una hermana menor.
Tras terminar secundaria, Anya se mudó a Los Angeles como una aspirante a actriz. Con temporadas en la British American Drama Academy (impartida por Richard Dreyfuss, Marsha Mason, Anne Jackson y Eli Wallach) y la American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena
