Biografía:
Aaliyah Dana Haughton (16 de enero de 1979 – † 25 de agosto de 2001), nació en el barrio del Bronx, Nueva York, pero pronto se trasladó con su familia a la ciudad de Detroit. Allí, Aaliyah realizó trabajos como modelo y cantante, consiguiendo grabar su primer disco de R&B a la edad de 15 años.
Al mismo tiempo estudiaba danza en la Performing Arts High School de Detroit. Su mentor en el campo musical fue el productor, cantante y compositor R.
