Biografía:
Rivers Cuomo nació el 13 de junio de 1970 en Nueva York, y creció en la comuna hippie de Yogaville, Connecticut. Fue guitarrista de los grupos de heavy metal, Avant Garde y Zoom, y líder vocalista de Homie (o la "Rivers Cuomo Band").
Iniciaría su carrera en la banda de Progressive metal, Avant Garde. En aquel entonces se le conocía con el pseudonimo de Peter Kitts, Kitts fue el apellido que tomo de su padrastro, con esta banda se mudaría a Los Angeles
