Biografía:
Tim Finn nació en Nueva Zelanda, en Te Awamutu. Se interesó por la música desde muy pequeño, y cuando entró en la universidad formó un grupo con unos amigos. Este grupo se llamaba Split Ends, y más tarde dio lugar a Split Enz. Fue líder de la banda hasta que la abandonó, en 1984, para iniciar una carrera en solitario. Ya antes había publicado un disco sin la banda, Escapade.
Escapade había sido un gran éxito de ventas y de crítica, que le dio varios premios en Australia e Inglaterra.
