Biografía:
Chris Eckmann y Carla Togerson se conocieron en 1983, el uno tocando versiones eléctricas de los Buzzcoks y ella interpretando miniaturas folk en la acústica. Este contraste es un elemento clave en la dinámica de The Walkabouts, formados en 1984. Su primer disco, "See Beautiful Rattlesnake Gardens", editado en 1988, fue muy bien recibido por la prensa, lo que les valió un contrato con la por entonces floreciente Sub Pop.
