Biografía:
Na primavera de 2005, Paul McDonald e seu colega Jonathan Pearss Auburn começaram a compor juntos, formando a banda Hightide Blues. Adicionando dois outros membros, Phillip Scott e Gayle Rollins, começaram uma turnê em pequenos clubes de todo o estado de Alabama. Em 2006, McDonald deixa sua educação de lado para seguir carreira na música em tempo integral. Depois de uma edição limitada auto-intitulada EP Hightide Blues em 2007, a banda lançou em 2008 um álbum auto-produzido
