The Almighty dieron sus primeros pasos en la ciudad de Glasgow, Escocia alla por al año ´88, la mayoría de sus integrantes venían del Punk Under reinante por ese entonces en los bares de mala muerte de esa ciudad. Su lider y vocalista Ricky Warwick junto a Stump Monroe y Floyd London habían tocado juntos en la banda "Rough Charm". Ya bajo el nombre de "The Almighty" llegan a firmar un contrato en el año ´89 con "Polydor Records"; con el cual lanzan su primer disco "Blood
