Biografía:
Spirogyra fue una banda inglesa de folk/prog. Martin Cockerham (voz/guitarra) y Mark Francis originalmente formaron Spirogyra como dùo en Bolton, Lancashire en el verano de 1967. Mas tarde, cuando Martin se traslada a Canterbury e ingresa a la Universidad, en 1969, integra a los tambien estudiantes Barbara Gaskin (voz), Steve Borrill (bajo), y Julian Cusack (violin).
