Rosetta Tharpe (20 de marzo de 1915 – 9 de octubre de 1973), también conocida como Sister Rosetta Tharpe, fue una pionera vocalista de gospel que adquirió gran popularidad en los Estados Unidos en las décadas de 1930 y 1940 con su mezcla única de letras espirituales y acompañamiento rock and roll. Devino la primera gran estrella de la música gospel en los años treinta y es conocida como 'original soul sister'.
