Mindy Smith, nacida el 1 de Junio de 1972 en Long Island, Nueva York, es una cantante y compositora americana. Su música puede ser clasificada como folk, country, americana, bluegrass, rock, pop e incluso alternativa.
Fue adoptada por un pastor y su mujer. Tiene un hermano y dos hermanas (Shannon, Kim y Don). Creció en Long Island, donde desarrolló pasión por la música y comenzó a cantar a una edad muy temprana. Después de la muerte de su madre a causa de un cáncer en 1991
