Biografía:
John Michael Stipe (nacido el 4 de enero de 1960 en Decatur, Georgia) es el líder y vocalista del grupo de rock americano, R.E.M. La fama de Stipe se debe al complejo surrealismo de sus letras, así como a su activismo político y social. Stipe y el resto de miembros de R.E.M. son conocidos también por ser los pioneros del rock alternativo, y por haber inspirado a algunos de los grupos de la escena alternativa de la década de los 90, como Nirvana, Pearl Jam o Radiohead.
