Liam Clancy - The Roseville Fair

[INTRO:] F C G F G C

[VERSE 1:]
F C
Oh, the night was clear, stars were shining
F G C
The moon came up, so quiet in the sky
F C
The people gathered 'round, the bands were tuning
F G C
I can hear them now, playing 'Coming Through The Rye'

[VERSE 2:]
F C
You were dressed in blue, you looked so lovely
F G C
Just a gentle flower of a smalltown girl
F C
You took my hand, we danced to the music
F G C
With a single smile, you became my world

[CHORUS:]
F G C G
And we danced all night to the fiddle and the banjo-o
F G C
Their drifting tunes seemed to fill the air
F G C G
So long ago, I still remember
F G C
When we fell in love at the Roseville Fair

[VERSE 3:]
F C
We courted well, we courted dearly
F G C
We'd sit for hours in the front porch chair
F C
A year went by from the time that I met you
F G C
And I made you mine at the Roseville Fair

[CHORUS:]
F G C G
And we danced all night to the fiddle and the banjo-o
F G C
Their drifting tunes seemed to fill the air
F G C G
So long ago, I still remember
F G C
When we fell in love at the Roseville Fair

[INSTRUMENTAL:] C F C F G C F C F G C

[CHORUS 2:]
F G C G
Oh, here's a song for all of the lovers
F G C
Here's a tune they can share
F G C G
May they dance all night to the fiddle and the banjo-o
F G C
The way we did, at the Roseville Fair
F G C G
May they dance all night to the fiddle and the banjo-o
F G C
The way we did, at the Roseville Fair

[OUTRO:] C F G C G F G C
