CAPO 4 (I'm pretty sure that's how Slim played it)

[Intro Chords]
D C G D

D
I'm a ringer from the top end
A
Where ya gotta know your job

And what you're doin' each day

On 2 million acres you bet
D
Ya have to earn your pay

If ya wanna take it on
G Em
There's one thing that shouldn't be forgotten
G A
Nobody can do the job
D
Like a ringer from the top end

A
Out on the fence line swallowing dust
E
Blood on my hands from the barb

Hoping that rogue bull won't see the hole
A
Before they get him in the yard
D
But I get a funny feeling in the middle of my back
G Em
Sure enough he's coming like a train down the track
G A
That's when nobody else moves faster
D
Than the springer from the top end

D
I'm a ringer from the top end
A
Where ya gotta muster 3 thousand head in a day
D
Move 'em to the yards and water them at end of day

It's not the sort of job you'd take
G Em
If you're looking for a soft one
G A
But ya take a kinda pride in saying
D
I'm a ringer from the top end

A
Well I roll out my swag 'neath the boab tree
E
And then I'm out like a light

Dreaming about those girls in town
A
Next thing it's broad daylight
D
No time to dream of what might have been
G Em
I'm in a dirty bull catcher with the mustering team
G A
I better keep my mind on the job
D
'Cause I'm a ringer from the top end

G A
And nobody does the job better
D
Than a ringer from the top end
