Es conocida por interpretar a Rocky Blue en la serie Shake It Up de Disney Channel, y a K.C Cooper en K.C. Undercover, también de Disney Channel.
Firmó un contrato discográfico con Hollywood Records el 8 de agosto de 2012 y comenzó a grabar canciones para su álbum debut el 12 de agosto de 2012. El 17 de septiembre de 2013 lanzó su álbum debut homónimo, Zendaya.
