The Statler Brothers

Have A Little Faith

by The Statler Brothers
The Statler Brothers

El disco de 1967 “The Statler Brothers Sing the Big Hits” produjo 2 populares singles.

[Intro]
C D E A D7 G7 D7

[Verse 1]
G
God told Abraham to go to Canaan land

And start a brand new life and be a brand new man
C G E7
He took his wife and nephew and did as he was told
A7 D7
But it's hard startin' over at seventy five years old

G
But God said Abraham look for as far as you see
C B7 E7
All of that land is a gift from me
C G E7
It's a lesson for the learnin' for the likes of you and me
A7 D7 G D7
Just have a little faith and you'll see

[Verse 2]
G
Well Abraham was closin' in on ninety and nine

And Sarah bless her heart wasn't very far behind
C G E7
When God stopped in to visit in the heat of the day
A7 D7
Said pretty soon they'll be a baby comin' your way

G
But Sarah laughed and said no I don't believe that it's true
C B7 E7
Me with a child with an old man like you

C G E7
It's a lesson for the learnin' for the likes of you and me
A7 D7 G
Just have a little faith and you'll see

[Interlude]
G C G G7 A7 G7

[Bridge]
G
Abraham it's time for a big sacrifice
G
Build yourself a fire and sharpen up your knife
C G E7
Take your little boy Isaac and put him in the flame
A7 D7
And kill him and burn him in God's holy name

[Verse 3]
G
Then God said Abraham don't it was only a test
C B7 E7
You passed with flyin' colors a head above the rest
C G E7
It's a lesson for the learnin' for the likes of you and me
A7 D7 G D7
Just have a little faith and you'll see

G
The father of the faithful the leader of the clan

He started out as just a simple country man
C G E7
But God loved Abraham and Abraham loved Him
A7 D7
It's a story to remember when your faith is growing dim

[Outro]
G
And you get tired and you say ah it was different back then
C B7 E7
But remember that they were only just men
C G E7
It's a lesson for the learnin' for the likes of you and me
A7 D7 G
Just have a little faith and you'll see

A7 D7 G
Just have a little faith and you'll see
A7 D7 G
Just have a little faith and you'll see
