La cantante/compositora/guitarrista Jill Sobule, natural de Denver, ha editado 5 álbumes en 10 años; ha tratado temas como la pena de muerte, la anorexia, la adolescencia y, por supuesto, el amor. Sus canciones son profundamente personales, trágicas y emotivas, con conciencia social. Tocó en diversas bandas funk y rock en Colorado antes de lanzar su primer álbum para MCA, "Things Here Are Different". Su verdadero éxito llegó en 1995, cuando editó con Atlantic Records "I Kissed A Girl", que fue un hit del Top 20.
