Previo:
Andy Sturmer y Roger Manning(de jellyfish) fueron compañeros en Beatnik Beatch junto a Chris Ketner. Estuvieron componiendo juntos un tiempo, haciendo canciones para el segundo disco de la banda las que fueron rechachadas por Chris en favor de su propio material. Andy y Roger salieron del grupo para seguir sus propios proyectos.
Jason Falkner escribía y tocaba en The Three O'Clock. Cuando se separaron, colocó un anuncio para buscar una nueva banda en Los Angeles.
