Jeffrey Dean Isbell,(verdadero nombre) nació el 8 de abril de 1962 en Lafayette, en el estado de Indiana.
Conocido por haber sido guitarrista rítmico y compositor de la banda Guns N' Roses. En su ciudad natal conoció y trabó amistad con Axl Rose. Con el tiempo Rose y Stradlin se encontraron de nuevo en Los Ángeles, en las bandas A.X.L, Hollywood Rose, y después Guns N' Roses en 1985. Izzy tocó la guitarra rítmica en Guns N' Roses y escribió
