Ferras Alqaisi, conhecido como Ferras, nasceu em Gillespie, uma pequena cidade no sul do Illinois em uma família de pais árabes. Seus pais se divorciaram quando ele era jovem. Aos cinco anos de idade, seu pai o levou ao aeroporto prometendo uma viagem à Disneylândia, porém seu pai o levou mais longe, para Amã, na Jordânia. Ele ficou com seu pai, país por três meses, e aí começou a escrever canções, e se distraia no teclado Casio que o seu pai lhe deu.
