De origen irlandés, londinense de nacimiento y de Liverpool por convicción, Eugene McGuinness lanzó en 2007 un EP de 8 canciones titulado "The early learnings of...". El cual fue seguido por el LP "Eugene McGuinness" en octubre de 2008 para el cual Eugene firmó con Domino Records. Eugene ha sido telonero de artistas de la talla de Goldfrapp y Regina Spektor.
