Deepest Blue son Joel Edwards y Matt Schwartz. Fueron presetados por un amigo en Común.
Matt, el productor de Deepest Blue, es un Israelí de nacimiento, y violinista con entrenamiento clásico, que se mudó al Reino Unido para estudiar producción musical. Matt ha trabajado con algunos otros músicos, incluyendo Arthur Baker, Mica Paris, JTQ y Massive Attack. Primero colaboró con Massive Attack en el album Mezzanine, ayudando a co-escribir Dissolved Girl, canción que fue incluída en la película The Matrix
