Biografía:
- Procedencia: Glasgow, Escocia.
- Integrantes: Ricky Ross, Dougie Vipond, Graeme Kelling, Ewen Vernal, Jim Prine, Lorraine McIntosh
Deacon Blue fue fundado a finales de 1985 por el cantante y compositor Ricky Ross y el percusionista Dougie Vipond, a quienes se unieron Graeme Kelling, el bajista Ewen Vernal y Jim Prine a los teclados.
Todos ellos vivían en Glasgow y pronto se integró en la banda Lorraine McIntosh, esposa de Ross, que en los coros dio la contrapartida colorista a la sobriedad propia del grupo.
