Recovering - Craig Cardiff
An incredible song from his album "Love is Louder". This is from the Part 2 album. Not sure if it matches part
one.

Standard Tuning, Capo 3

Intro: G, Cadd9, Em7, D x4

Verse 1:
G Cadd9
Spring swallowed winter
Em7 D
Like bitter swallows sweet
G
You said you were tired
Cadd9
Of missing the stars
Em7 D
tripping on your feet
G Cadd9
I’m trying to make it better
Em7 D
I’ve been saying it so long,
G Cadd9
That things will be better soon
Em7 D
Better soon, I know...

Chorus:
Cadd9 G D G
Once, twice, three times again
Cadd9 G D
There is no road so far down beyond recovering
Cadd9 G D G
Once, twice, three times again
Cadd9 G D
There is no road so far down beyond recovering
D G Cadd9, Em7, D
Beyond recovering

Verse 2:
G Cadd9
You’d been holding out for hope
Em7 D
Long after hope, she had let go.
G Cadd9 Em7 D
Craving, she keeps coming by though
G Cadd9
Doubt holds court
Em7 D
With her small town boasts.
G Cadd9
The worst is how she’s familiar,
Em7 D
How she’s comfortable...

Chorus:
Cadd9 G D G
Once, twice, three times again
Cadd9 G D D
There is no road so far down beyond recovering
Cadd9 G D G
Once, twice, three times again
Cadd9 G D
There is no road so far down beyond recovering
D G Cadd9, Em7, D
Beyond recovering

Interlude: G, Cadd9, Em7, D

Verse 3: (finger picked)
G Cadd9
Spring swallowed winter
Em7 D
Like bitter swallows sweet
G
You said you were tired
Cadd9
Of missing the stars
Em7 D
tripping on your feet
G Cadd9
Don’t mistake for brokenness
Em7 D
What is a fragile state of opening
G Cadd9
Of coming out of the night
Em7 D
Into day

Chorus X2:
Cadd9 G D G
Once, twice, three times again
Cadd9 G D D
There is no road so far down beyond recovering
Cadd9 G D G
Once, twice, three times again
Cadd9 G D (Hold D the first time)
There is no road so far down beyond recovering

2nd Chorus:
D G Cadd9 Em7
Beyond recovering
D G Cadd9 Em7
Beyond recovering
D G
Beyond recovering
