Cortex es una banda francesa de Jazz-Funk, creada por Alain Mion,y Alain Gandolfi en el piano. Formada a comienzos de 1974.

Cortex nace en Torrelavega (Cantabria) en el verano de 1997, con miembros que provenían de otras bandas y se estrenan ante un entusiasta público el 6 de noviembre del año siguiente, donde ya muestran a la gente la muralla sonora que son capaces de generar.
