Chris Robinson

Train Robbers

by Chris Robinson
Chris Robinson

Artist: Chris Robinson
Song: Train Robbers
Album: This Magnificent Distance

Tuning: EADGBE (Standard) with a capo at the 5th fret (album and New Earth Mud live versions) or 2nd fret
(Chris Robinson Brotherhood live versions). The studio version has an acoustic guitar (or two) playing
throughout the song, then an electric that joins during the choruses and solo (playing the rhythm part).
I have included both the acoustic and electric parts in this tab (rhythm only, a separate electric plays both
solos).

NOTE: Most chords in this tab are chord shapes relative to the capo, not the actual pitch of the chords.
The exception being the electric playing during the choruses and solo, which does not have a capo.

Notable chord shapes:

C G D
If you get caught don't say nothing, just stay in line
C G (stop)
Til' your chance comes and you can make your next getaway

Em Em(maj7) Em7 Em(maj7) x2

Em Em(maj7) Em7 Em(maj7) Em
I must admit it's strange
Em(maj7) Em7 Em(maj7) Em
These visions of empty ballrooms
Em(maj7) Em7
And the sound of a sad refrain
Asus2/F# B Em
Like a smoke ring floating by
Em(maj7) Em7 Em(maj7) Em
But the omen already came
Em(maj7) Em7 Em(maj7) Em
In the form of a pear tree
Em(maj7) Em7 Em(maj7)
That grows out of a cave
Asus/F# B
Into a crystal waterfall

CHORUS

SOLO #1 RHYTHM

Repeat these chords x3:

Em F# G
A B C

F# and B are just individual notes, not the full chords.

Then once more with a second ending:

Em F# G
A B C
A B C

----------------------
NOTE: The second guitar from the choruses (again, standard tuning with no capo) reappears during the solo with
the following:

Repeat x3:

A B C
D E F

As with the acoustic guitar, the B and E here are individual notes, not full chords.

Then:

A B C
D E F
D E F

---------------------

Em Em(maj7) Em7 Em(maj7) x2

Em Em(maj7) Em7 Em(maj7) Em
And as a child I dreamed
Em(maj7) Em7 Em(maj7) Em
That I was Geronimo
Em(maj7) Em7 Em(maj7)
And all the gifts I received
Asus2/F# B
Were from my enemies and all my friends alike

CHORUS

SOLO #2 RHYTHM
Repeat x7

Em F# G
A B C

Then once more with a second ending:

Em F# G
A B C
A B C
