Biografía:
Chavez es una banda de math rock de Nueva York, formada en 1993, la cual después de un período de inactividad, se volvió a juntar en el 2006. La banda es liderada por el guitarrista Matt Sweeney, quien fuera anteriormente miembro de Skunk y de Wider, y tocó con Guided by Voices. El baterista James Lo también vino de Wider; la banda se completa con el guitarrista Clay Tarver (Bullet Lavolta) y el bajista Scott Marshall.
Matt Sweeney ha confirmado que la banda está trabajando en sus primeras nuevas grabaciones desde 1996.
