Benny Goodman (Chicago, 30 de mayo de 1909 – Nueva York, 13 de junio de 1986) -nacido como Benjamin David Goodman- fue un clarinetista y director de jazz estadounidense. Conocido como "el rey del swing", es, junto con Glenn Miller y Count Basie, el máximo representante de este estilo jazzístico. Director de una de las big band más populares de su época, desarrolló sobre todo la variante más suave del género, la de las sweet bands, y fue el iniciador de la llamada era del swing.
