A Vain Attempt (un vano intento en español) es una banda de hardcore, emo y screamo proveniente de Suecia y creada en 2006.
A Vain Attempt se formó en 2006 y su primer sencillo con éxito fue I Can't Escape incluido en su álbum Love Is Like Suicide (2008). Además su canción But A Memory aparece en el recopilatorio Burn All The Small Towns (2009). Puesto que no ha firmado contrato alguno ni ha concedido entrevistas hay poca información disponible acerca de la banda.
