[Verse 1]
C#m D#mb5
Dead stars in jewelry boxes spill as we rush past them, lain to waste
E
We can't have everything we want, some things will have to stay
N.C.
There is no beauty in the fire but there is beauty in the
D#mb5
way your eyes locked willingly with death and death turned trembling away
C#m
Like ice on passing comets we move coldly,
D#mb5 F#m
soundless, through it all but in the wordless space between us there is something like a song
E
Each note exists within the silence, our hearts were moving it along
D#mb5
You sing the melody so perfect, I can only get it wrong

[Chorus]
C#m B
So I beg, just make the silence stop (it's exposed too much)
A E
I think I've had enough (time to let it go)
C#m B A D#mb5
It's always quiet and that was the sound of us (and it's killing me, I'm close to giving up)

[Verse 2]
C#m D#mb5
An hourglass is spinning, tumbling right past me through the room
E
Gravity long since gone, now an airless tomb
D#mb5
The song that lived between us: here but out of tune
C#m
The grains of sand escape the glass, each one paler than the moon
A
Entire planets empty with only dust and rocks to find
F#m
You escaped from here, leaving this behind
E
You found an enemy in sorrow; I made a lover out of mine
D#mb5
And now I'm running out of air and Iâm begging

[Chorus]
C#m B
just make the silence stop (it's exposed too much)
A E
I think I've had enough (time to let it go)
C#m B A D#mb5
It's always quiet and that was the sound of us (and it's killing me, I'm close to giving up)

[Bridge]
C#m G#/C
What am I to say?
C#m G#/C
We've been growing apart

[Verse 3]
C#m D#mb5
My infatuation with you began to slip into the void
E
I watched it drift into the cosmos as anguish plagued my mind
D#mb5
As we began to mirror all the space between the stars, I couldn't take the static
C#m
I needed something more

[Bridge 2]
A C#m B A E
It wasnât easy finding something to live for, hearing your voice inside of every sound
C#m A C#m B A E
I saw a part of you in everything, took a moment to breathe, then let it run out

[Chorus]
C#m B
just make the silence stop (it's exposed too much)
A E
I think I've had enough (time to let it go)
C#m B A D#mb5
It's always quiet and that was the sound of us (and it's killing me, I'm close to giving up)
