Biografía:
Kim Carnes nació en Pasadena, California, Estados Unidos el 20 de julio de 1945 sin poseer antecedente alguno de influencias musicales en su familia. Pese a esto escribió su primera canción con tan solo tres años y se inició en la música grabando demos una vez que se graduó de la secundaria. Grabó su primer album en 1971 al cual tituló como "Rest on Me".
Su relación con la música folk la llevó hasta los New Christy Minstrels en el año 1966.
