Joan Chandos Báez (Staten Island, Nueva York, 9 de enero de 1941), Joan Baez, cantante estadounidense de música folk, conocida como "La reina de la canción protesta". Caracterizada por una voz potente, aguda, próxima a la de una soprano, y con un vibrato controlado para potenciar la dramatización de las letras de las canciones, Joan Baez es la máxima figura de la canción protesta surgida en los años sesenta, al calor de la Guerra de Vietnam.
