Jerrald King Goldsmith (Pasadena, 10 de febrero de 1929 – Beverly Hills, 21 de julio de 2004), mejor conocido como Jerry Goldsmith, fue uno de los compositores más importantes y reconocidos de la cinematografía.
Goldsmith aprendió a tocar el piano a la edad de seis años. A los catorce, estudio composición, teoría y contrapunto con los maestros Jacob Gimpel y Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Goldsmith ingresó a la Universidad del Sur de California
