My memory takes me back to my childhood

G7 C
Back to the early days of radio

F
Where I sat and listened to the Grand Ol' Opry

G7 C
And Roy Acuff singing from the soul

F
There's a song about the great Smokey Mountains

G7 C
And the song about the Wabash Cannon Ball

F
And my biggest dream was someday I would go there

G7 C
On the stage of the greatest show of all

F C
And I'm proud that I was raised on country music

F G7
I am proud that I was taught right from wrong

F C
And I'm proud to be a part of this great family

G7 C
For there's nothing like a good old country song

F
Now the Cannon Ball it was a great song

G7 C
I still remember each and every word

F
And someday we'll all fly home to glory

G7 C
On the wings of The Great Speckled Bird

F C
And I'm proud that I was raised on country music

F G7
I am proud that I was taught right from wrong

F C
And I'm proud to be a part of this great family

G7 C
For there's nothing like a good old country song

G7 C
For there's nothing like a good old country song
