Ben E. King (nacido como Benjamin Earl Nelson, el 28 de Septiembre de 1938 en Henderson, Carolina del Norte, y fallecido el 30 de abril de 2015) era un cantautor estadounidense de soul y pop.
Especialmente famoso en los años sesenta, es el intéprete de la versión más conocida "Stand By Me" (de la que es su coautor), un éxito en los Estados Unidos en 1961 y 1986, y en 1987 en el Reino Unido en 1987 (también alcanzó el #8 en el United World Chart).
