Intro: A D A E 2x

A D
I remember when it changed
A E
I remember when he looked at you that way
A D
You said you didn’t know his name
A E
You lit a fire you got caught up in the flames

A D
Now we sit outside
A E
You say it happened just one time
A D
And I don’t wanna have this fight
A E (pause)
But then you look me in the eye

A D
And you ask me, “are we cool?” I reply, “we’re magnificent”
A E
You stepped on my heart, don’t pretend that you’re innocent
A D
Don’t know what happened to you and I
A E
We could’ve been cool
A D A E
But you had to go and play with fire, with fire, with fire

A D
yeah I'm pretty sure how this will end
A E
you’ll make a scene and wonder why we cant be friends
A D
I cant believe you never learned
A E
You play with fire, there’s a chance of getting burned

A D
And we’re still outside
A E
You swear it was a lonely night
A D
That it didn’t mean a thing that’s nice
A E (pause)
But you still look me in the eye

A D A E
why’d you had to go and play with fire, with fire, with fire

A D A E A D A E
ooooohh oooooohh

A D
I remember when it changed
A E (one strum then pause)
Now its never gonna be the same

A D A E
why’d you had to go and play with fire, with fire, with fire

A D A E
why’d you had to go and play with fire, with fire, with fire
A D A E
why’d you had to go and play with fire, with fire, with fire
A D A E
why’d you had to go and play with fire, with fire, with fire
A D A E
why’d you had to go and play with fire, with fire, with fire

And you ask me, “are we cool?” I reply, “we’re magnificent”
A E
You stepped on my heart, don’t pretend that you’re innocent
A D
Don’t know what happened to you and I
A E
We could’ve been cool
