Alex Lambert foi um canditado eliminado precocemente do American Idol 2010, sem nem ao menos ter chegado ao TOP12. Mesmo assim, por ser um excelente cantor, adquiriu uma legião de fãs. Logo após ter saído do American Idol, foi para outro reality show, o If I Can Dream.
