Alan Hull - Breakfast

[Verse 1]
N.C. C G
In the morning you rise, night is still in your eyes
D C G D
Moving warm with content, the memory of your body's scent
C G
I watched your striptease in reverse, dip my hand in your purse
D C G D
Smiling softly you say, that I could not get much worse

[Verse 2]
E7 G
Then, scream at the raising steam
D B
Reminding you and me, we need a cup of tea
E7 G
Intimate breakfast scene, with sausage, egg and beans
D B
Weetabix, jam, lightly grilled brown ham

[Verse 3]
N.C. C G
Talking gently and low, I ask you why you must go
D C G D
Having asked it I know, instead of 'Yes', you'll answer 'No'

[Verse 4]
E7 G
Oh no, got to go back home
D B
My child is all alone, don't ring me on the phone
E7 G
My husband will be there, it really isn't fair
D B
He still believes in trust, I've got to catch my bus

[Verse 5]
N.C. C G
Looking through the window pane, watch her leaving me again
D C G D
Wondering what's in her head, I slowly sink back to bed
C Am F G
And I feel so empty that I must be - dead________

[Outro]
G
