C
She sings songs sixty years old
F
Fourty years too late
G C
Resounding voice down our estate
C
It's only when she's asked of you
F
Finds herself come unglued
G C
Oh my singer missing screws
C
Never knew him as this man
F
Just a boy cap in hand
G C
Take me out in borrowed shoes

Am C
If we'd grown old together
Am C
If we'd grown old together

F G
Eyes might age and places fade
F G
Skin gets thicker but I hope
C
I hope I hope we'll feel the same
C
Gambling

C
She sings songs sixty years old
F
Fourty years too late
G C
Resounding voice down our estate
C
They would stand side by side
F
Placards pinched in their fists
G C
Staring dead across the picket lines
C
And how he'd cup a cigarette
F
Saying I know we'll get there yet
G C
And I know we would stood with you

Am C
If we'd grown old together
Am C
If we'd grown old together

F G
Eyes might age and places fade
F G
Skin gets thicker but I hope
C
I hope I hope we'll feel the same
C
Gambling

C
She sings songs sixty years old
F
Fourty years too late
G C
You could see it in her face
C
So I put you on a train
Going Sheffield to Boston
F G
You'll find work
C
I'll work right here
C
Never knew you as this man
F
Just a boy cap in hand
G C
And your kisses were free

Am C
If we'd grown old together
Am C
If we'd grown old together

F G
Eyes might age and places fade
F G
Skin gets thicker but I hope
C
I hope I hope we'll feel the same

Am C
If we'd grown old together
Am C
If we'd grown old together

F G
Eyes might age and places fade
F G
Skin gets thicker as our bodies wrinkle
F G
Hair fall out as our ideals falter
F G
Kingdoms crumble but I hope
C
I hope I hope we'll feel the same
