Wrinkle Neck Mules

Pull Me From The Wreckage

by Wrinkle Neck Mules
Wrinkle Neck Mules

Biografía:

What the hell is a Wrinkle Neck Mule? A sophomoric phallic reference? Too easy. A pack animal used in the Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico to transport opium to America in the early 1900s? History channel worthy, but wrong. A band of five (or four, depending on the wind) from Richmond, Virginia carrying indie-rockish country music about the land? Eureka. Daily double.

Born somewhere on I-64 between Charlottesville and Richmond, Virginia in late 1999

Pull Me From the Wreckage - Wrinkle Neck Mules
Track 11 - Let the Lead Fly (2009)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Standard Tuning; no capo. Approx. 79 bpm

For the transition from C to Am, walk down the A string, playing a B in between
the C and Am. As a timing placeholder, I have a B5 indicated in the chords.
You don't need to play the whole chord, just the root B note:

C Am
e|--0----------|
B|--1-----1----|
G|--0-----2----|
D|--2-----2----|
A|--3--2-------|
E|-------------|

[Intro]
C F G F C B5 Am
C F G F C

[Verse]
C F G F C
Lay the strings out on the bed and lie there
C F G F C
Walk straight up the hill to ring that bell
C F G F C B5 Am
The swollen hearts and the stops and starts will leave you lying low
C F G F C
One day it’s going to break apart I know

[Verse]
C F G F C
You're just like a snake with your steady living
C F G F C
And me just like a fly in the windowsill
C F G F C B5 Am
I’ll buzz and crash and then rehash the whole misdeed again
C F G F C
Laid in armor plates and draped in sin

[Chorus]
Am C Am
Pull me from the wreckage
Am F C
And lay me out upon the road
Am C
Pull me from the wreckage
Am F C
Things are going to be changing here I know

C F G F C
C F G F C

[Verse]
C F G F C
Nobody said a word about the hallways
C F G F C
Or all the flights of stairs we had to climb
C F G F C B5 Am
We’ll weave and wind and pass the time by staring at the wall
C F G F C
Tell me my good brother, “how far’s the fall?”

[Chorus]
Am C Am
Pull me from the wreckage
Am F C
And lay me out upon the road
Am C
Pull me from the wreckage
Am F C
Things are going to be changing here I know

C F G F C
C F G F C
C F G F C B5 Am
C F G F C

[Bridge]
G F C
I’m so sorry to see you go
G F C
I’m so glad that I’m so sorry
G F C
I’m so glad to see you go
G F C
I’m so sorry, I’m so glad

[Chorus]
Am C Am
Pull me from the wreckage
Am F C
And lay me out upon the road
Am C
Pull me from the wreckage
Am F C
Things are going to be changing here I know
Am F C
Things are going to be changing here....
Am F C
Things are going to be changing here I know

C F G F C
C F G F C
