The Vibrators se formó en el año 1976 en Londres, Reino Unido, y continua hasta la actualidad.
El grupo, tras años de historia, ha sufrido multitud de cambios en su formación. La formación original era: Ian Knox Carnochan - voz, guitarra, Pat Collier - bajo, John Ellis - guitarra y Eddie - bateria. En la actual solo quedan Ian "Knox" Carnochan y Eddie, de los miembros originales, y se ha sumado Pete en el bajo.
